Vaccines

If you are organizing an international trip, I always recommend finding out about the required or recommended vaccines for your destination. If you speak Italian like me, I suggest relying on the official website of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Viaggiare Sicuri: you just need to enter the country you want to visit to get a clear picture immediately.

If you prefer to consult a source in English, I recommend the NHS website (the United Kingdom's health system), Travel Health Pro, which is considered very reliable. In this case as well, you simply need to enter the destination country to obtain all the useful information regarding vaccinations.

I suggest you start checking at least a couple of months before departure. Some vaccines, in fact, require boosters before becoming effective, and in general, it takes a few days for the coverage to be active. Furthermore, vaccination centers often have quite long waiting lists for the first appointment.

Once there, you will be able to speak directly with the doctor, who will assess your situation based on the places you will visit, any allergies, and your vaccination history.

This, of course, is not medical advice – I have no training in that regard – so if you have doubts, the best thing to do is always to consult your family doctor.
